Oath of Office--First Congressional District of Rhode Island:
Representative-elect Gabriel Amo presented himself in the well of the
House and was administered the Oath of Office by the Speaker. Earlier,
the Clerk of the House transmitted a copy of a letter received from Mr.
Gregg M. Amore, Secretary of State, State of Rhode Island, indicating
that, according to the unofficial results for the Special Election held
November 7, 2023, the Honorable Gabriel Amo was elected for
Representative to Congress for the First Congressional District of
Rhode Island.

Whole Number of the House: The Speaker announced to the House that, in
light of the administration of the oath to the gentleman from Rhode
Island, the whole number of the House is 434.

Question of Privilege: Representative Greene (GA) rose to a question of
the privileges of the House and submitted a resolution. Upon
examination of the resolution, the Chair determined that the resolution
qualified. Subsequently, the House agreed to the Clark (MA) motion to
refer to the Committee on Homeland Security the resolution (H. Res.
863), impeaching Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland
Security, for high crimes and misdemeanors, by a yea-and-nay vote of
